Ghost

#112: Gone. Be Gone.

I’ve washed my hands several times, furiously, with soap, then dishwashing detergent, then with coffee, then with some rice milk scrub. I’ve soaked them in alcohol, then cologne, then sanitizer, then body spray. I’ve tried to mask the smell with juniper lotion, then with more alcohol, then with more spray. The smell of onion still sticks to my hands.

I cooked clams and onions pasta yesterday and for a change, I didn’t ask one of our maids to help me out. Everything from concept to execution was in my hands. Now all the stink is in my hands as well.

I’m being hounded by the ghost of an onion.

try washing your hands with toothpaste or with lemon first then toothpaste. it's the same concept as brushing your teeth. or to be sure, neutralize it with baking soda then toothpaste. it worked when i cooked bouillabaise, and that's a whole lotta seafood and garlic. oh, may i please have the recipe?

Hey Bambi,
Thanks for the tip! I tried it immediately. (Well, it didn't work at once but I kept going at it for a couple of days and now it's gone!) =)
As for the recipe, I'm what you call a Rebel Cook. The thing I made is just glorified Clam Chowder on shell pasta.

TJ,
Haha. Baka batukan ako ni Allan - sabihin kinukompetensiya ko ba business niya. =)

A traveler once told me of a concoction that could prove useful:

Mix one part lemon juice and two parts water. Add a pinch of salt. Pour slowly.... down your left ear. There will be a stinging sensation. Do not mind that. Take particular note of your hearing loss.

I'm sure this magic mixture should do the trick!

Hey Jaenonymous, that traveler-friend of yours is silly. Kick her for me when you see her, k? (Or should I just kick me?) Hehe.
